Some things can only be explained from the hidden regions of the heart. Les petits bonheurs are all the little things that make each day a miracle. May I share my feast with you?

i carry your heart with me

~E. E. Cummings

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)
i fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

This is a poem on love that I love. It reminds me of God's personal love for me through his son, Jesus Christ. It also speaks of the profound love of husband and wife. And, today it reminds me of the deep need of love from my 11 wonderful children, who each long to feel as if they were my only child.

Salamba Sarvangasana

Yoga brings open-heartedness. Shoulder Stand is the MOTHER OF ALL YOGA POSES! For, just as a mother desires to keep her family happy and in harmony, this pose works to harmonize the body, mind, and spirit. Contraction of the stomach rejuvenates the abdominal organs. Forward bending of the spine relieves back ache and tight shoulders. Interlocking of the fingers relieves cramping of the hands. Fresh oxygenated blood nourishes the brain. This pose calms and restores the heart! Soften your heart toward others with Sarvangasana!

May I take this opportunity to wish some of my favorite blogmothers a happy Mother's Day? Have a wonderful day, Vicki, Margaret, Mary, Roxanne, Melanie, Spartan Sis, Raehan, Gail, Jane, Wende, April, Chris, Michelle, Judy, Beverly, Marie, and Stace!

I'm off to attend an impromptu tea party in our tree house featuring cucumber sandwiches and scones. A certain young son prefers the idiom "Let's feed two birds with one scone."

Call Mum!

Babette, I thank you for including me in your Mother's Day wishes. I hope that your day was wonderful!

ee cummings is my favorite poet! How nice it is to see him quoted here.

P.S. I used to do the shoulder stand all the time as a teen, and had no idea at the time that it was yoga. I can't do it as well now (my stomach gets in the way....LOL)

Happy Mother's Day. It seems we were thinking in the same direction today. :D

Enjoy those scones.

That Sarva something position you are recommending? It can't be done. The picture you got there is a Photoshop, right?

(Don't forget to wish me Happy Days when my mother's day shows up in June.)

Happy mother's day, friend!

I went to a yoga session this morning, which included a shoulder stand. Not sure I'm in harmony, but I had a very nice day.

I get choked up everytime I hear, "I carry your heart in my heart". So true.

Happy Mother's day, those cucumber sandwiches sound wonderful.

I'm afraid I may have had a moment or two of fussiness on Mother's Day. But we all knew that would happen, didn't we? I should have been doing that shoulder stand instead of cleaning the house for company.

Happy Mother's Day, to the Mother of thousands!

I'm here a day late, but thank you, for including me in your list. That's a lovely song. I haven't heard it before.

About that position, I read somewhere (I think) that it is not especially good for people with heart problems. Do you know?

Have a good week with your children. When will you see the grandson again?

Thanks for your visits.

My wife is earning her Mother's Day badge taking most of this week off work to prepare our Spartan son for his trip to Russia to study abroad. A Medal of Honor would be appropriate for her efforts on his behalf.

Hope your Mother's Day was full of sunshine and good cheer.

Thank you for the Mother's Day greeting and the poem... I love ee cummings although I don't always get all his poems. This one is special. I know the tea party was a big success and what joy your children had in throwing it for you.

Alas, my child is still steeped in resistors, capacitors, magnetism and wave theory as her Physics final exam is today. Then one English paper to write and perhaps she will get home for three days before her RA summer duties start.

I have another driving responsibility coming up... an 18 hour drive to Ft. Wayne, Indiana to the fourth 50th wedding anniversary in my dad's family. Doing my best to take care of MY mom!

I said song, didn't I. I meant poem.

This was the poem on the front of our wedding program- so you know I love it, too.

I think a mother's love is an amazing thing the way it can expand to love more than one and yet one can take every bit of love that heart has to give. And once there is more than one, there's an ebb and flow to the whole thing. I was always grateful that when one child seemed particularly in need of extra love, the other would seem to run well on fumes- and then they would flip flop. I was also happy to discover that there are so many variations on a mother's love. Sometimes I like to think about what it has been like for you- perhaps you have a multiple personality order!

I agree- nothing like a good inversion to set things to rights. Just getting everything resituated in there can be a great comfort.

Happy Mother's Day, dear Bonnie. I know this one is just a little more special for you- and rumor has it that you will be a very happy camper, come June. Thank you for your kind good wishes!

Hooray, for you (and the new little family!!!). The Northwest is a much mellower climate to bring up little B. Will shoulder stand unclog my nose??? I do enjoy that pose, it will be hard to continue reading blogs and not go....

I am popping in a day late because I was busy being a supportive mother in a gymnastics gym yesterday, then had to supervise my husband's driving back from Spokane. At about Cle Elum, Ashley called to wish me a happy day and to chat with me. Those are the kind of gifts I love! Hope your day went well. You are a Number One Mom in my book!

I am glad to see you in the blogosphere! Is this yoga pose improved with the blanket below the shoulders? Once a yogi pulled up on my legs while I was in this pose and it helped me seat my bones just right. I do not like looking up during this pose however, the elephant skin hangs down and bangs my nose!

I live on a forested mountain with my beloved husband and our large family. Less is more, except where children are concerned. My favorite pastimes are practicing yoga on my side deck, learning how to improvise on the cello, and boating into the Puget Sound with my sweetheart.
